◇History of “Paper Quilling”
Paper quilling has a long history that is said to have originated around the 15th and 16th centuries when nuns in France and Italy used paper quilling to decorate their religious items. The paper most commonly used was strips of paper trimmed from the gilded edges of books. These gilded paper strips were then rolled to create the quilled shapes. Today, Paper Quilling has been widely popular as a traditional and authentic hobby across Europe and America.
